Kosovo has been on the waiting list of a major catastrophe for a very long time. Even years before the war broke out in Bosnia in 1992, the situation there was very tense. It was just a matter of time and in 1999 the time for the people of Kosovo ran out. The social and political differences between the Serbs and ethnic Albanians had reach the point of frustration and violence. Once again there was war in the Balkans and the massive exodus of ethnic Albanian refuges into Albania and Macedonia, caught the world's attention. As NATO forces intervene and stabilizes the region, a tense atmosphere remain and the violence continues.
